Banks strike Australia Post deal to bolster rural branches

The banks and federal government have brokered a deal to shore up services in the bush by expanding the membership and increasing funding for the banking operations of Australia Post.

The major banks have also agreed to moratoriums on regional branch closures until July 2027.
