Katy Perry has been mocked on social media after a rumour emerged claiming that she donated all the proceeds from her new album, named 143, to help fight the wildfires in Los Angeles.
Almost 200,000 people have been displaced and around 12,000 structures have been destroyed, along with 35,000 acres of land as the fires continue to devastate California.
Celebrities have come out in droves to donate large sums of money to the cause, with the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis and Halle Berry donating millions of dollars.

A tweet on X claiming that Perry donated all the proceeds from her latest record to the cause has gone viral, with many suggesting the amount couldn’t have been more than a handful of dollars after the album notoriously flopped.
“Katy Perry had donated all the revenue she has made from her album ‘143’ to the victims of the California Fire!” read the post, which sparked a flurry of snarky replies.
“She donated $14.3 dollars! what a queen,” one user quipped.
“What’d that total to? Like $7?” remarked another in reply to the tweet, which has been seen more than 30 million times on the platform.
“A homeless person could probably find more spare change to donate than that,” laughed a third.
“I hope they use the money wisely and divide the $10.99 equally among all the victims!!” teased another.
“Good! At least one firefighter deserves a good half sub for lunch,” added another fan.
Perry has found herself as the butt of the joke ever since the release of her much maligned comeback single, Woman’s World, where she robotically sings that she’s feeling “so intelligent” over a track she chose to be produced by Dr Luke, the man Kesha accused of sexual assault.
It comes after Perry won a years-long legal battle against an indie Australian designer over the use of a trademark.
Sydney woman Katie Jane Taylor, who runs the Katie Perry label, sued the I Kissed A Girl singer in the Federal Court over the sale of clothes in Australia, claiming trademark infringement.
In April last year, Taylor had a partial victory, with the court finding Perry committed trademark infringements in social media posts promoting her Prismatic Tour in 2013 and 2014.
However the singer appealed to the Full Bench of the Federal Court, which last month found “Ms Taylor’s trade mark was not validly registered” and ordered that the registration of the designer’s trademark be cancelled.
It’s one of numerous infamous court battles for Perry, who previously went viral after an elderly nun involved in a legal struggle with the star dropped dead in court.
Some of her last ever words uttered were: “To Katy Perry, please stop.”
Sister Catherine Rose Holzman, 89, was a member of an order of elderly nuns involved in a dispute over the sale of their convent.
Perry had offered to buy the eight-acre property and its Roman-villa-style buildings for $14.5 million ($18.4 million), and to relocate an adjoining house of prayer used by priests. Her bid had the approval of Los Angeles’ archbishop.
But local entrepreneur Dana Hollister stepped in and attempted to buy the property from two nuns who had lived there for $15.5 million ($19.7 million) and had hopes of turning it into a hotel.
However, a judge had ruled the sale to the entrepreneur was invalid and a court battle ensued.
Perry had even tried to win over the nuns, staging a private performance for them of religious classic Oh, Happy Day.
However, it’s claimed the nuns were reportedly unimpressed by the fact Perry had to read the lyrics on her smartphone.
