The pink guava ice-cream at Icy Spicy gets a confetti-hit of chilli seasoning as it’s served, vividly re-enacting co-founder Indrajeet Magar’s memories of savouring just-cut fruit in his Indian homeland, each piece showered with salt and spice.

While the freezer cabinet showcases more than two dozen flavours from sweet (gulab jamun) to savoury (pineapple chaat), the momo menu is inspired by expat colleagues Rohit Sanga and Inkumit Lepcha. Their dumplings evoke Sikkim, near Nepal and Tibet, and the accompanying tomato-chilli chutney justifies “Spicy” in the growing business’s name.

Momos shape-shift from fried beetroot-pink wonders to peppery mushroom-filled bites and orange Sichuan parcels buzzing with ginger. Note you can enjoy all these dumplings at home too, in a takeaway order with the fan-favourite spiced instant noodles. Comfort to the max.
