Long and slender like a California roll, with bench seats running the length of the understated space, En has been quietly delighting locals since 2009 with its deft range of slightly unusual Japanese fare. Dumplings feature sweet potato, carrot and shiitake, while seaweed salad might be tossed with saganaki. Juicy bricks of marinated eggplant with a mortar of momen tofu and dollops of warm, salty miso are moreish, while more traditional Japanese items such as sake, sashimi and soba noodles with wasabi cucumber, are all fine choices.
