HOT roast rolls are a great way to beat the winter months and although the shortest day has passed us the days are only getting colder. Here are five of the best spots for a hot roast roll to warm you up.

HOT roast rolls are a great way to beat the winter months and although the shortest day has passed us the days are only getting colder. Here are five of the best spots for a hot roast roll to warm you up.

Wursthaus Kitchen, 1 Montpelier Retreat, Hobart

Just off the Salamanca strip, Wursthaus Kitchen offers two mouth-watering hot roast rolls, both priced at $9.95. The Roast Pork, Apple and Gravy Roll, has free range Huon Valley pork covered in apple and gravy sauce on a long fresh roll. The other option is the Roast Beef, Horseradish and Gravy Roll, which too is in a long roll but contains delicious Cape Grim beef topped with horseradish and gravy.

Speed Feed, 56 Liverpool St, Hobart

Speed Feed’s Roast Roll ($6.90 for a regular or $8.50 for a large) is a classic-styled hot roast roll. The heart of the roll is its protein with a choice of beef, pork, lamb or chicken, which are all locally sourced and roasted daily on the premises by owner and chef Adam. Placed in a fresh crusty roll and topped with a full flavoured gravy that is made from Speed Feed’s own stock, this hot roast roll is simple done well.

Legs ‘n’ Breasts, statewide

With locations across Tasmania, if you’re looking for a hot roast roll a Legs ‘n’ Breasts Classic Sub ($6.90) is a great option. The sub roll is filled with Leg ‘n’ Breast traditional rotisserie cooked chicken. A variety of toppings can be added, with a choice between the mayo, satay sauce or the stores renowned gravy. It doesn’t stop there, with options to add salads, cheese or even chips for extra.

Albert Road Store, 68 Albert Road, Moonah

The Chicken Gravy Roll ($9) from Albert Road Store can be had for breakfast, lunch or dinner, being served all day. The white bread roll is filled by crumbed chicken, which is the point of difference for this hot roast roll with the chicken being cooked and crumbed in-store. It is then packed with cheese and crispy bacon before being smothered with warm gravy.

Hotel Soho, 124 Davey St, Hobart

If you’re planning a winter’s night out on the town why not pop into Hotel Soho for a hot roast roll for sustenance. The Pulled Pork Roll ($12.50) is a great option for a long lunch or dinner. A part of the “Entree Meals” menu, the soft roll is packed full of pulled pork. The tender pork is topped with rocket coleslaw and to make things even better it’s served with a side of chips and salad.
