FUH, fur, fo. However you pronounce it, this flavoursome Vietnamese soup is your go-to option for a filling winter warmer. Filled to the brim of a large bowl with rice noodles, herbs, meat and tasty broth, this staple of Vietnamese street food is sure to have you hooked.

VIETNAMESE PHO, 9/33 Salamanca Pl, Battery Point

Take your pick from four traditional flavours: chicken, beef, beef meatballs ($12.50) or a special combination recipe ($15). Each is stewed with spring onions, coriander and served with lemon and bean sprouts. A fourth option — spicy beef ($12.50) — is given some extra kick from a lemongrass broth with a side of salad.
