The Italian Pantry

With so much goodness to offer, the Italian Pantry’s big breakfast aptly named The Full Pantry ($21.50) is the popular eatery’s best-selling breakfast item.
The very definition of a big brekkie, the meal contains perfectly cooked eggs, poached, scrambled or fried, beautiful sausages, bacon, mushrooms and tomato all served on delicious sourdough toast. Breakfast is served on Saturdays only.
Salamanca Wharf Cafe
17A Castray Esplanade, Battery Point
A wholesome hardy meal for hungry hardworking Hobartians, the Wharf Breakfast ($22) ticks all the big breakfast boxes. The feast includes eggs, poached or scrambled, bacon, corn fritters, tomato, mushrooms and chorizo with Summer Kitchen organic sourdough. The flexible dish can be made gluten-free or vegan.
Machine Laundry Cafe

Catering to a variety of dietary requirements and preferences, Machine allows customers to build their own big breakfast, scrambled or poached, on Pigeon Whole sourdough or Straight Up gluten-free toast. Choose your sauce ($3) and a selection of smaller sides ($2.50-$4). The options include roasted tomato, mushroom, haloumi, free-range bacon, sauteed spinach, avocado salsa and vegan Machine-made beans ($4-$5 for average size sides).

T42’s House Breakfast comes with two eggs cooked as you like, fried, poached or scrambled, crispy bacon, pork and fennel sausage, tomato, mushrooms, fried haloumi and tomato chutney In true big breakfast form, the $25 monster feast is sure to quell your hunger and satisfy your flavour cravings. Extra sides can be added for $2.50-$4.50.
The Foodstore
356 Macquarie St, Hobart
The Foodstore’s menu accurately describes their best-selling Savoury Breakfast ($19.50) as “It’s Big!”. The dish includes a yummy corn cake in place of toast, loaded up with two scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes, a hashbrown, bacon and hollandaise sauce.The dish is flexible and certain elements can be swapped for other sides. Vegetarians, for instance, can trade bacon for mushrooms.
