Mr Morgan had driven away from his girlfriend’s home in Coonan Street in Harlaxton about 2.50am on March 15 when up to four people pulled beside him in a stolen Ford Ranger dual cab ute on Ruthven Street.

They fired several shots at Mr Morgan, one of which struck him in the head.

Despite the wound, Mr Morgan walked back to his girlfriend’s house where an ambulance was called and he was taken to the Toowoomba Hospital.

The 25-year-old Toowoomba man was transferred to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital, but surgeons were unable to remove the bullet and Mr Morgan died from the injury on May 16.

“Any information we receive will be treated confidentially.”

Police have identified several suspects and are working to take them into custody.

“We have conducted a lot of inquiries and we will continue to conduct inquiries to ensure the persons responsible are put before the court,” Sgt McCusker said.
