Toowoomba remained dry overnight as powerful storms wreaked havoc across the southeast, but there is more wet weather coming today according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
There is a 50 per cent chance of showers in the region, according to the BOM forecast, expected in the late morning and afternoon.
BOM meteorologist Rosa Hoff said Toowoomba was on the fringe of the inclement weather today.
“We do have some shower activity, but mostly it’s closer to the coast,” Ms Hoff said.
“There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm in the region, and if it rains its likely to be a spot or two.
“We’re expecting (the wet weather) to be winding back through the day.”
Ms Hoff said the weather would start to clear from tomorrow.
“There’s not much chance of rainfall tomorrow and it will be drier from Friday, leading to a sunnier weekend,” Ms Hoff said.
“The trough that moved through yesterday, heading towards the Coast has now turned around and is heading back west.
“It’s likely to hover in the southern interior, increasing humidity in the region in the next few days.”
