Kevin studied photography at the Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE, graduating with a Diploma of Photography. He has worked at The Chronicle since 1997. He provided APN group coverage of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami from Sri Lanka.

As the Chronicle’s Sports Editor Jason’s passion is sharing the achievements of the Darling Downs region’s best sporting talent and its various teams and clubs. Growing up in Oakey and Toowoomba, Jason’s journalism career began in Kingaroy at the South Burnett Times nearly 20 years ago. Jason also writes for CODE Sports.

Tom Gillespie

Tom has worked in newsrooms across south-west Queensland since 2013. Prior to his appointment at The Chronicle in 2016, he was the editor of the Western Star in Roma for 18 months. He won the 2019 Clarion Award for Regional and Community News Report (Print/Text) for his Boy In The Barrow series, which helped secure an electric wheelchair for a local boy with cerebral palsy. Growing up in Brisbane, he studied journalism at Queensland University of Technology. Away from work, he loves spending time with his partner Sarah and their daughter Macie, enjoys playing music in one of Toowoomba’s many pubs and painfully supports the Brisbane Broncos.

Susan Hartland

Studied politics/journalism at University of Queensland, also diploma in financial markets with Securities Institute of Australia Started cadetship in Bundaberg, moved to Canberra to work for a federal minister, then was with AAP in Sydney for nearly 20 years, mainly in finance, before moving back to Queensland to The Chronicle, Toowoomba. Keen fencer (with swords, not nails!) a Thunder Head (ie into Celtic Thunder) and fan of Supernatural

Will Hunter

Will Hunter is the deputy editor at The Chronicle. Will started his career as a cadet journalist at the Dalby Herald in 2013. He made the move to Kingaroy as the deputy editor of the South Burnett Times in 2015, then editor in 2016. Will has worked at The Chronicle since 2018.

Award-winning journalist Peta McEachern is the senior court reporter at The Chronicle. The fierce advocate is passionate about regional journalism, covers numerous news rounds, and specialises in court, crime, and breaking news coverage.

Bella MunroReporter

Bella Munro is a reporter for The Chronicle with a passion for telling human interest stories. She started her career at The Chronicle and the Courier Mail as part of the 2024 Cadet Program. Growing up overseas, she loves connecting with people from around the world and sharing their unique stories, which she continues to do every day as a reporter.

Michael Nolan

Michael Nolan is the Chronicle’s crime and emergency reporter covering fires, floods and offenders. He started his career with the Warrego Watchman in the far flung reaches of Southwest Queensland before working in magazines and PR in Brisbane. He has also worked for the South Burnett Times and the Warwick Daily News. Michael joined the Chronicle in 2019.

Jarrard Potter

Jarrard is a reporter for The Chronicle, covering a variety of topics and interests. Born and raised in Maclean on the NSW north coast, Jarrard was previously crime/court reporter and deputy editor for The Daily Examiner for five years. His interests include playing the guitar, fishing and trying to maintain a positive K/D in Call of Duty.

Kate Stephenson is a Court reporter at The Chronicle in Toowoomba. She covers a range of news rounds with a strong passion for regional and human interest stories. Previously, she worked as a General news reporter at the Cairns Post and in Brisbane at the Courier Mail.
