Kilkivan’s James Neale charged with murder after death of Paul Mann
A man who was shot by police after he allegedly stabbed his uncle to death has now been charged with murder as a small Qld country town reels from the incident.

A man has been charged with murder over the stabbing of his 55-year-old Kilkivan uncle last month.
Just after 3pm on April 12, police were called to a Running Creek Rd address to reports of a disturbance.
Paul Mann, 55, died after allegedly being stabbed by his nephew James Neale at the property they shared about 50km west of Gympie.
Police allege a local police officer had no choice but to fire his gun after being called to the family dispute by a health worker about 3pm that day.
Mr Neale was shot once in the chest after he allegedly ran at the police officer and was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
He remains in hospital for treatment to the injuries he sustained.
Mr Neale has been charged with one count each of murder and serious assault police officer while armed with a weapon.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on July 26.
This matter is continuing to be investigated by the Ethical Standards Command with the investigation subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
