Brett David Eddy faces more charges after alleged hit-and-run

Further charges have been laid against a driver who allegedly hit and killed Hervey Bay mum Tash Raven and left her on the roadside without calling for help.
Ms Raven, 43, was walking home from a night out on May 25, 2024, when she was struck on Boundary Rd in Urangan.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, she died at the scene.
Brett David Eddy, 42, was oringially charged with manslaughter, dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving of a motor vehicle without a driver’s licence and driver fail to exhibit proper respect to deceased showing callous disregard for the needs of a person.
Those charges were mentioned again in Maryborough Supreme Court two weeks ago and adjourned until October.
Then, Hervey Bay Magistrates Court heard on Thursday Mr Eddy had also since been charged with a further count of driving without a licence court disqualified and one count of wilfully making unnecessary noise or smoke.
Defence lawyer Virginia Ukpabi appeared as town agent for Suthers George Lawyers and said the latest charges would be looked at again after the next Maryborough Supreme Court sitting later this year in October.
Magistrate Trinity McGarvie granted the adjournment to November 20, 2025, with Mr Eddy’s appearance excused on that date.
No pleas have been entered.
