An all-time family favourite that is quick to prepare. This recipe is adapted from a 40-year-old Australian Woman's Weekly self-saucing pudding recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-raising flour, sifted

  • Pinch salt

  • 3/4 cup caster sugar

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 60g butter, melted

  • 100g dark chocolate buttons, melted

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp cocoa

  • 1 cup strong black coffee

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 170C.

    Mix together flour, salt and caster sugar in a bowl. Stir through milk, butter and chocolate. Spoon into a 1.5-litre pudding dish. Sprinkle over brown sugar and cocoa, and pour over coffee.

    Bake in the oven for about 50 minutes or until pudding has risen and is crusty on the top.

    Serve with vanilla ice-cream, cream or custard.
