Birds of Paradise Rotisserie
Nostalgia-inspired takeaway perfecting the charcoal chook.

With the future of Brunswick Heads’ flagship restaurant Fleet still up in the air, the crew keep themselves plenty busy with nearby taqueria La Casita, Roco Ramen & Sake and this, their canary yellow charcoal chook takeaway.
It’s all about the spinning birds, of course – brined, bronzed and best enjoyed with chicken-salted chips and rich schmaltz gravy – but there’s something for everyone on the tight but mighty menu. Sebago spuds are mashed, heartily buttered and smothered with more gravy, and salads hum with freshness, including citrus-dressed charred broccoli scattered with peas and parmesan.
The old-school chicken and gravy roll makes an appearance, too, but it’s the parmie sandwich – a thick schnitzel bathed in robust tomato sugo and capped with provolone – that’ll leave your head spinning. Scoff it on one of the stools provided, or make a beeline to the river for a makeshift picnic.
