Indian$$

There was much rejoicing when Horn Please came to town, the sequel to the highly successful Dhaba at the Mill in Kyneton. This is traditional dhaba ('roadside') food in a sophisticated, candle-lit setting, raising the bar on Indian dining with top-notch ingredients. Fat crisp-shelled samosas are stuffed with Trentham potatoes, the mild vindaloo uses Macedon Ranges beef, and the gingery, yoghurt-marinated butter chicken is free-range. Do try the papdi chaat, puffy samosa 'chips' with chickpeas and spuds and a pomegranate-tamarind sauce. On Sundays, $20 buys all you can eat rice and curries, from 6pm to 9pm.
