Luke Mitchell and Luca Winton inspired the Sherwood Magpies to take flight, with the pair making the Team of the Week after another QAFL victory, while Labrador, the Vultures and Redland-Victoria Point also soared.
Sherwood have positioned themselves for a strong bid for semi-final honours after a rollicking 14.8-92 to 8.6-54 victory over Noosa.
Sherwood pushed clear in the last quarter to kick 4-3 to Noosa’s four behinds after just 15 points separated the sides at three quarter time.

Sherwood coach Adrian Fletcher said Mitchell was mighty at half back while Luca Winton was eye-catching in the midfield.
The Magpies now have a five win, five loss record and were moving in the right direction.
Noosa were not without their outstanding players.
Coach Adam Bovalino said Seb Rogers was one of the best on the field playing down back and up through the middle.
Not for the first time this season centre half back Ryley Buntain was praised while captain Aaron Laskey cut an inspiring figure in the midfield.
Another big improver is Labrador who had a huge victory over the high flying Broadbeach
Labrador won 10.12-72 to 7.10-52, holding off Broadbeach in an exciting last quarter after retaining a break which was established in the vital third term.
Coach Nick Malceski was thrilled with the delivery of his game plan against quality opposition. “We executed our game plan in a hard contest.’’
To the fore were midfielders Alex McKay and Tom Simpson, while Jesse Travaglini and Pearce Hanley were tremendous up forward.
At the other end of the field Jayden Young did his job (fullback) and as a result all three go into the squad of the week.
Mt Gravatt broke through for its third win of the season, upsetting Morningside by two points after rising to the occasion when he mattered most.
“Although not pretty at times, the boys really stood up in the key moments,’’ said Mt Gravatt coach Tony Lynn after the 9.8-62 to 8.12-60 win.
“Our younger boys took another step forward and overall it was a great term effort with everyone sticking to their roles.
“It was a win the club needed after a tough start to the season.’’
The Vultures actually led at every quarter - albeit by a narrow margin - but Morningside’s final quarter surge of 3-2 in a low scoring game threatened to snatch victory from the home side.
Mt Gravatt’s win was engineered by Lochlan Harrop, Joel Leahy, Brendan Telford and Benji Neal and in the midfield, while backmen Harry Gobbie and Ethan Kerr kept things together in the thriller.
The Panthers best was ruckman Brad Hodge according to coach Clint Watts.
Redland-Victoria Point had a big win over the Gorillas, 19.24-138 to 6.6-42. Impressively the goals were shared around, with Matthew Waters and Jarrod Huddy claiming three each, while Yagmoor, Lemana-Pakau, Brown and Matthews kicked eight between them.
Coach Phil Carse said it was a great team performance despite windy conditions.
“The boys were able to move the ball well in transition and kick a big score,’’ Carse said.
“We were very happy with the pressure around the ball and the energy the group brought to the day.’’
Wilston Grange coach Brent Moloney nominated Hugo Thew his best across the midfield and down back.
Palm Beach Currumbin surged from behind to muster 11.14-80 and defeat Surfers Paradise 10.6-66 after keeping their arch rivals scoreless in the final term.
PBC were down by 20 points at halftime and two goals at three quarter time, but surged with 4-3 in the final term.
Jed Foggo kicked four goals for PBC as the side generated 25 scoring shots to 16, seven of which came in the final term.
