Another round, and another avalanche of goals by Jordan Moncrieff leading to automatic selection in the QAFL squad of the week - yet again.
Moncrieff kicked six for Broadbeach in the Cats 23.15-153 to Noosa 6.4-40 victory, although this time he had some competition on the scoresheet with Nicholas Burton and Brandon Chadwick both kicking five.
That makes 29 goals in the last four matches for Moncrieff who has contributed to Broadbeach’s rollicking top of the table percentage of 222.07 - almost 100 per cent superior to second and third placed Labrador and Morningside respectively.
Yesterday’s win was iced by Moncrieff, Burton and Chadwick, but according to Broadbeach coach Craig O’Brien it all started with centreman Tyrone Armitage and O’Brien was happy to nominate him as best on ground.
Under pressure, Noosa fullback Aaron Wilson held up well to be nominated by his coach Adam Bovalino as BOG alongside skipper Aaron Laskey.
Labrador also had a 18.12-120 to 6.6-42 win over Wilston Grange while Morningside 12.9-81 prevailed over Maroochydore 8.11-59.
Patrick Turner had a day out for Labrador by kicking five goals while half forward Cooper Anderson and star half forward/on-baller Thomas Meagher both snuck in three apiece.
Labrador coach Nick Malceski heaped praise on Meagher, midfielder Tom Simpson and centre half back Brad Carter.
In the match of the round, Morningside 12.9-81 defeated Maroochydore 8.11-59.
Wingman Tom Jeffrey was electric for the Panthers in a match which hung in the balance - 7-7-49 each - entering the final term.
Morningside generated 5-2 to 1-4 in an explosive last burst which protected the team’s place in the top three.
Aside from Jeffrey, coach Clint Watts was also delighted with the performance of fullback Jimmy Cowlishaw.
Maroochy coach Andrew Cadzow said his best was again Jacob Simpson in the ruck who claimed BOG.
But he had helpers in Dan Fleming at half back flank, and Jono Giles in the midfield who had a stunning 30-plus touches and 12 tackles. Giles is a class player from the Aspley VFL set-up.
Key forward Tom Smith was magnificent for Surfers Paradise in its 12.18-90 to 10.6-66 win over Mt Gravatt.
He took marks to create seven goal kicking chances, kicking 4-3.

Smith had benefited from Matt Green’s ruck work, the midfield work of Kain Ford and the way Nick Scott in the back pocket and key defender Danny Charlesworth curtailed the Gorillas and rebounded their side into attack.
Another ruckman, Jon Croad, earned high praise from his coach Russell Moloney in PBC’s win over Sherwood.
After a big second and third quarter effort, Palm Beach Currumbin were never in danger of defeat but to Sherwood’s credit the Magpies mustered a 4-3 last quarter surge to close the gap.
For Sherwood fullback Toara Marango and Jack Austin at the other end of the field (full forward) were outstanding.
