Seven development projects that will change the face of Redcliffe
Sky-high towers, new dining precincts, multimillion-dollar health facilities and family attractions – this coastal area north of Brisbane will look very different when these seven developments are complete.

WITH views over Moreton Bay, access to public transport, close to the airport and great schools and health facilities – the Redcliffe Peninsula is a developer’s dream.
Here are seven of the biggest game-changing developments planned for the Redcliffe Peninsula.
SCARBOROUGH: 71 LANDSBOROUGH AVE
This 31m tall unit development was approved by Moreton Bay Regional Council in September last year, despite residents objections and the building being 10m taller than the height recommended in the planning scheme.
All up there will be 116 carparks and 60 bicycle spaces.
While work is yet to start on this development it will not be the only multistorey unit complex on Landsborough Ave.
Traders in Purple have also been given permission to build a nine-storey tall unit complex at 77-85 Landsborough Ave – which will include 64 units, a restaurant and a swimming pool.
The Vave complex at 137-141 Landsborough Ave, is almost complete.
REDCLIFFE: 1 REDCLIFFE PDE
The developer plans to build two towers, one up to 30 storeys tall with residential and short term accommodation options, a laneway, green space, dining precincts and retail spaces at the site at 1 Redcliffe Pde, directly adjacent to Mon Komo.
Traders in Purple held several community consultation sessions about the development last year.

REDCLIFFE: BLUEWATER SQUARE SHOPPING CENTRE
Elanor Investors Group have revealed it has big plans for this Redcliffe shopping centre, which it purchased in 2017.
The first major upgrade to the centre will be a new putt putt entertainment precinct on the Sutton St side of the centre.
It will replace an unused outdoor dining area and three retail tenancies.
If approved by Moreton Bay Regional Council the under the sea themed attraction will include a mural around the outside, 18 holes and plenty of hi-tech gaming machines inside.
The development is also proposed to include a bar and party room.
Elanor Investors Group are remaining tight-lipped on how much the project will cost.
The second development is a new Asian supermarket.
Peninsula Asian Supermarket will be run by David Baiya, who has operated a restaurant at Bluewater Square Shopping Centre for 10 years.
This new supermarket, a first for the region, is expected to be open by October.
REDCLIFFE: DOLPHINS STADIUM
Once completed the stadium, at Klingner Rd, will be able to seat 10,000 people.
Redcliffe Leagues Club CEO Tony Murphy revealed the club could be in line to host major upcoming events, should Australia and Queensland be successful in its bids.
“We have had organisers from the Olympics and the Women’s Football World Cup out here to have a look,” Mr Murphy said.
The stadium has already been used to host the Intrust Super Cup grand final, FFA Cup games, NRL trial games, A-League clashes, W-League matches and multi-team carnivals and tournaments.
REDCLIFFE: HOSPITAL UPGRADES
The long awaited $23.7 million multistorey carpark at Redcliffe Hospital is expected to be open later this year but that is not the only development taking place at the hospital.
The carpark, which was due to open last year, is now on track to open later this year – though a firm date has not been announced.
Construction has also started on a new $16 million medical imaging department.
Once complete the two-storey building will be home to the promised MRI machine and second CT machine.
This new building will also include the new paediatrics emergency department, which will be funded by the Federal Government.
A $5.4 million operating theatre is under construction on Level 2 and is expected to be open later this year.
The $4 million upgrade to the maternity and birth suite was completed earlier this year. The project included an additional birth suite and water immersion bath and a redesign to the hospital’s neonatal unit.
NEWPORT: NEWPORT MARINA
This controversial development, proposed by Kindred Developments, which divided the community was stripped back from two 10-storey towers to one six-storey unit complex in a bid to get it approved.
But despite scaling the development back Moreton Bay Regional Council knocked back the application stating it did not meet the planning scheme requirements.
It was proposed to include 54 units, a communal space, gym, pool and lounge. This development also received a lot of backlash from nearby residents.
Moreton Bay Regional Council received 829 properly made submissions in relation to the development, just 164 of them were in favour of it.
Kindred Developments lodged an appeal with the Planning and Environment Court and the matter is still ongoing.
A decision is expected to be made later this year.
WOODY POINT: 2 GAYUNDAH ESPLANADE
Traders in Purple hope to build a 45m tall tower at 2 & 8 Gayundah Esplanade, the site of the former Palace Hotel.
Moreton Bay Regional Council approved the development which is proposed to include a 15 storey unit complex and 13 two bedroom townhouses.
During the consultation process 145 residents objected to the proposal, mainly because it is more than double the height set out in the council’s planning scheme.
A decision is expected later this year.
