Records broken as rain continues to fall

Flood warnings remain as rain and storms continue to hit the Darling Downs and the southeast after emergency services carried out multiple swift-water rescues during a busy night as downpours of more than 100mm in an hour smashed parts of the region.

Major flood warning for Upper Brisbane River

A number of people have been rescued from vehicles swept away in flood waters and a major flood warning has been issued for the Upper Brisbane River as fierce storms bring in torrential rain across the southeast. It comes as a cyclone edges closer to the Australian coast.

Heavy rain brings both chaos and hope

The weekend’s torrential rainfall across Queensland caused widespread flash flooding, transport disruptions and saw emergency services stretched, but there was a silver-lining for drought-hit regions of the state.
