It’s time to reveal Queensland’s top five cutest babies of 2023:
#1 Parker Simpson
Smashing through the poll with 100 votes, Mackay’s Parker Simpson has claimed the title of Qld’s cutest baby, only a few months after being named the cutest for his region.
Celebrating his first birthday later this month, Parker has stolen hearts across the state with his cheeky grin and ‘true blue’ Aussie nature.
“He is a real Mack-boy,” his mum, Tah-Leah Bakker said.
“We are very overwhelmed and happy that Parker has now been named QLD’s cutest baby.”
Since winning the title of Mackay’s cutest baby in November last year, Parker has started daycare, grown two more teeth (four in total) and has got into “a lot more mischief, now that he can crawl confidently.”
Parker celebrated his first Christmas with his many family members, spoiling him with love and gifts.
“Being the great great grandson of Ram Chandra and Lear Ramsamy, Parker has a very big family base.”
#2 Reef Day
From being named Bundaberg’s cutest baby to becoming the runner up for Queensland’s cutest baby, eight month old Reef Day has charmed the state with bubbly personality, and heart melting giggles.
Claiming the Bundaberg title after a tie-breaker with Saint Koa Esse (Bundaberg runner up), which he won by just two votes, Reef has since received 11 per cent of the statewide votes, 3 per cent higher than the third place.
Reef’s mother Coral Guest described Reef as a smiley little boy, with a very cheeky side.
“When he knows that he did something wrong and you tell him, he’ll just laugh at you,” she said.
#3 Maggie Jane Lindley Harris
Sunshine Coast’s cutest baby, Maggie Jane Lindley Harris ranked in third receiving 8 per cent of the statewide votes.
Facing a challenging start to life, Maggie encountered complications at birth, including a critical moment when she stopped breathing.
As her mum reflected on this frightening time, she felt a deep sense of reassurance knowing that Maggie received exceptional care at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
“I knew she would be fine, it was just something random, she was in the best place she could be,” Ms Lindley Harris said.
Swiftly moved to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), Maggie’s journey to health began under the watchful eyes of medical professionals.
Despite the rocky beginning, six months later, Maggie has not only overcome those initial hurdles but has flourished into a thriving, smiling, and healthy baby.
Gushing about her beautiful baby, Ms Harris said she could talk about her daughter all day.
“I don’t know if I could go back because I’m obsessed with her,” she said.
#4 Lockiah Gale
With 6 per cent of the votes, Gladstone’s Lockiah Gale has come in fourth place for the statewide competition.
Described as a mummy’s boy, mischief maker, and an all around happy boy with a contagious smile, Lockiah claimed the title of Gladstone’s cutest baby for 2023 in December, last year.
“He is an openly affectionate little fella whose loves nothing more than to smile, giggle and gives the best snuggles,”His mum, Alyssa-Jane said.
“If you were to meet Lockiah, you’d be in awe of the way he looks into your eyes with his ‘big’ smile followed by a warm hug.”

An absolutely adorable little girl.”
