Police have launched a search after a man jumped from his car and fled from police after being asked to pull over in his vehicle.
Around 11am in Andergrove police asked to pull his vehicle over by police due to out of date registration.
The man did not comply with this order and mounted the curb at the intersection of Kean St and Smalley St while he bailed from the car.
A Sergeant at the scene confirmed the man had “done a runner”.
Police are on the lookout for a man in a dark singlet and wearing red shorts.
A bystander close to the scene described the suspect fleeing through their property.
“I was having a wee when I heard a bang,” he said. .
“He jumped the fence into my backyard.”
The bystander claimed he saw the suspect drop cash and the keys to a commodore on the street close to his property.
Police are currently investigating the whereabouts of the individual.
It is unknown if he has been apprehended at this time.
