Ormiston College principal Brett Webster said she college was pleased to be “consistently recognised as one of Queensland’s highest performing schools”.

“It is what we aspire to achieve and the fact that we do so is a wonderful reflection on the spirit and optimism that resides within our college and the inspiring students, families and staff who bring the school motto ‘seek to achieve’ to life each and every day,” Mr Webster said.

“The secret to our success includes a strong sense of belonging on campus, an ongoing drive to improve the way we teach, and high expectations coupled with even higher levels of support for students.

“While Ormiston College is very pleased to rate among Queensland’s best, we are even more proud of the fact that the college achieves beyond what would be expected, given the socio-economic level of our enrolment.

“Many schools, including some with strong results, are achieving only what is to be expected, given the socio-economic factors within the community they serve.

“Meanwhile some schools in both the government and non-government sectors stand out, achieving beyond expectation, supporting and inspiring their students to achieve their true potential. We are delighted that Ormiston College is one such school.”
