THE Redlands’ best schools have been revealed, with one secondary school earning full marks.
Ormiston College’s secondary school receiving a perfect score of 100.

The Better Education website list compared 78 of Brisbane’s best high schools and 202 schools’ NAPLAN scores in 2019 to provide information on the best schools and how they compared around the state.
The analysis revealed Sheldon College’s secondary school also fell within the top 100 secondary schools, with a score of 98 as did Redlands College earning a score of 94 and Faith Lutheran College, Redlands (91).
Ormiston College was so close to perfect marks all-round with its primary school scoring 99, matching that of Sheldon College.

Thornlands State School was the Redlands’ highest-scoring state school, scoring 98. It was alongside the likes of private schools St Peters Lutheran College at Springfield and John Paul College at Daisy Hill.
St Luke’s Catholic Parish School at Capalaba scored 95, along with Redlands College’s primary school, followed by Ormiston State School and Faith Luthern College’s primary school, Victoria Point, on 94.

However, a Department of Education spokesman slammed the reliability of the list.
“The department does not support the creation of simplistic league tables based on a narrow
measure of academic performance,” the spokesman said.
“These measures without context often do not summarise the diversity of education that schools provide.”
Instead, the spokesman pointed parents to resources including the “Choosing a School” page on the Education Queensland website, or the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority’s My School website.
