Cafe Vue at Heide
Cafe
Heide’s collection of contemporary art is full of life, but it won’t fill your belly. It’s pleasing to see this adjoining cafe departing from the average gallery snacks - no sad sangers and premade salads here. Instead you’ll find breads and baked goods, and chic twists on old favourites. The provencale omelette is studded with salty capers and served in an oven pan; poached pears come with walnut-date crumble and an attractive garnish of bright petals. The fitout is modern and minimal, but scattered herb pots, hanging vines and a three-walled view of the rolling hills bring some green to the table.
