Iran’s support of terrorist organisations in Lebanon, Gaza and Yemen is an affront to global peace and security and should be decisively countered, Israel’s ambassador to Australia says amid an escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Amir Maimon said Israel had not asked for a war, and did not want one, “but we will win it – not just for our own sake but for the sake of the free world”.
