The coming release by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) of data on the median gender pay gap for more than 5000 organisations will highlight our nation’s progress in advancing gender equality in the workplace and women’s economic security.
Even as a rear view, this data cannot be ignored by company directors or brushed off as another reporting or compliance obligation. Instead, it sheds new light on strategic workforce planning and the importance of closing gender pay gaps as part of economic, environmental and social strategies.
