The rising uptake of sophisticated technologies will fundamentally change the nature of teams and force a re-think of the way leaders hire and manage staff, argues renowned author and public speaker Malcolm Gladwell.

The trend to replace or augment human tasks with powerful computing systems would require workers to collaborate more effectively. Rather than hiring star performers, it would become incumbent on leaders to ensure that each member of the team was sufficiently qualified to carry out their duties. A weak link in the team could have disastrous consequences, Mr Gladwell said.
