Union militancy is a major threat to the recovery in 2022

Australia stands on the cusp of a new economic phase as the post-pandemic economy emerges. The end of border and other restrictions is imminent – promising sustained economic recovery. Substantial growth will be available if the threats are identified and managed.

Supply chain reliability is the new economic pandemic. For obvious reasons, Australia is very much exposed. Congested inefficient ports and problems with timely unloading and onward transportation means a typical container now spends 20 per cent longer in transit than before the COVID-19 pandemic.
