Respect@Work report ‘won’t fix cultural problems’

The Morrison government’s response to the Respect@Work report will do little to change company behaviour, says one of Australia’s most respected directors.

Kevin McCann, a former chairman of Macquarie Group, welcomed the government’s acceptance of most of the recommendations from the 2020 national inquiry into workplace sexual harassment. But he said stamping out sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace required cultural change and this would need to be employer-led.
