Rail union moves to end Qube lockout over ‘safety risk’

The rail workers union has taken unprecedented legal action to end Qube’s lockout of 200 workers in a dispute over a $32 million underpayment case, claiming the logistics giant is putting thousands of commuters at risk.

The Rail Tram and Bus Union on Friday applied for the Fair Work Commission to immediately terminate the logistics firm’s 10-day lockout which it alleges shirks rail safety rules and encourages unqualified workers to operate trains.
