Labor’s still searching for casuals problem

After ‘increasing casualisation’ was exposed as a myth, Labor and the unions have latched on to ‘the permanent casual worker loophole’. That’s just another myth.

The federal government’s latest plan to attack very long-standing and accepted practices around casual employment, which it defines as “loopholes”, is without doubt a solution in search of a problem.

A loophole is defined as a small mistake which allows people to do something that would otherwise be illegal (Collins).
