Hate conferences? Good news, the future will be a virtual hybrid model

Australia’s once-lucrative $35.7 billion conference and exhibitions sector has changed permanently over the past 10 months, with operators upping their state-of-the-art technology to cater for the “hybrid” conference model of virtual broadcast and live participants.

“Everyone is craving the return of face-to-face business events and contact, but the ‘hybrid’ model with dial-in speakers and participants, as well as in-person attendees, is definitely here to stay,” said Geoff Donaghy, chief executive of Sydney’s International Convention Centre.
