CFMEU picket ‘struck at the heart of the rule of law’

Construction union leaders who abused and physically threatened staff “struck at the heart of the rule of law and should not be tolerated in our society,” The Australian Building and Construction Commission has said in defence of a $1.2 million fine under dispute.

It made the claim as the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union appealed to a court to have the near-record penalty for misconduct overturned.
