The construction union and its officials have been fined $1.2 million by the Federal Court for coercing a Sydney crane company through an unlawful picket line, which temporarily shut down operations, and the intimidation of staff by chanting and shouting.
The fine, the second highest against the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union, was issued by the court over a confrontation at Botany Cranes in Sydney in early 2019.
