CFMEU faces second split in civil war fallout

The CFMEU’s manufacturing division will split from the rest of the union in the face of dysfunction and internal attacks.
The manufacturing division’s executive decided on Wednesday to prepare an application to the Fair Work Commission to demerge from the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union after agreeing that members would be better off outside the union.
