Lawyers leading a wide-ranging inquiry into corruption and criminality in the construction industry in Queensland have vowed they will put thugs and bullies in the witness box to face allegations of violence, blackmail and bribery.
Officially opening hearings of the Queensland government’s commission of inquiry into the construction union and misconduct in the industry, senior council assisting Liam Kelly, KC, said it would not tolerate intimidation or threatening of witnesses who seek to provide evidence.
