Australian bosses hooked on migrants, global survey shows

Rather than upskilling their workforces or paying more to attract top talent, Australian employers are calling for migration changes to plug skills shortages at a far higher rate than their global counterparts.

The World Economic Forum’s 2025 Future of Jobs Report found 45 per cent of Australian employers favour changes to immigration laws to attract global talent, compared with a much lower global average of 26 per cent.
