Music and creativity will improve school students' results across the board

Teaching creativity to schoolchildren through music and the arts is critical to lifting the overall performance of Australian schools, says the head of a successful program which has done just that.

Caroline Aebersold, CEO of not-for-profit group The Song Room, has creative education programs running in most Australian schools and, with the new review by David Gonski due to report on what strategies work best to improve school achievement, she says it is very important to boost teaching of the arts.
