Wendy Qin graduated from Sydney University with a master’s degree in management on top of a commerce degree – the type of education once considered a golden ticket to a good job at an international firm and the first step on a successful career.

She started applying for roles at companies in her homeland of China and in Australia, but secured just a handful of interviews from 40 applications.
