The number of jobs that AI will destroy is an open question. A far safer bet is the prediction that workers who know how to use it will eventually replace those who do not.
There’s no shortage of doomsday predictions related to the emerging influence of artificial intelligence. Tesla chief executive Elon Musk told British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak last November we would eventually reach a point with AI “where no job is needed”.
Months earlier, Goldman Sachs estimated a fifth of work done globally could be automated, which would result in the loss of roughly 300 million full-time jobs in big economies alone.
