A couple’s claim for a multi-million-dollar estate has been denied because of a black ink mark obscuring their names on a copy of the will discovered two months after the willmaker’s death.

The Supreme Court of Victoria ruled that Howard Thomas, 75, had redacted his three-page will despite having no immediate relatives, or leaving no notes about who might have been the alternative beneficiaries.
