How many of Australia's union members do you think would be happy to see News Corp CEO Robert Thomson taking home a market-leading salary of $US14.7 million ($21.6 million) in FY19?

We'd guess virtually none. But the roughly one in 10 Australians (many Labor-voting redistributive types) who entrust their retirement to the Australian Council of Trade Unions-aligned AustralianSuper had the shares purchased with their savings voted in favour of every single resolution at News Corp's November 20 AGM. As well as the vote on the remuneration report, that included resolutions re-electing Rupert, Lachlan and James Murdoch to the board. Not that the gerrymandered News Corp, whose dual voting structure ensures the Murdoch family an outsized influence on AGM voting, has any need of AusSuper's support.
