The good news in established housing prices has yet to flow through to housing construction.

Reserve Bank deputy governor Guy Debelle, in a speech titled Housing and the Economy at the CFA Societies Australia Investment Conference last month, said the two sectors of the housing market were on different cycles, with established housing rising in price while new building activity was falling.
