We all love an upgrade, but MPs need their wings clipped: AFR readers
Politicians should be banned from asking for free flight upgrades and penalised if they breach travel disclosure rules, readers of The Australian Financial Review say.
More than 90 per cent of respondents to the latest reader poll called for penalties, while 85 per cent wanted an outright ban. They were split on whether politicians should be allowed to accept the upgrades if they were offered without solicitation though, as long as they were declared.
