Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has lashed plans for Australia to contribute troops to a European-led peacekeeping force for Ukraine, warning the Defence Force should instead be focused on the risk China poses locally.
Australia’s military representative to NATO and the European Union, Air Vice Marshal Di Turton, will attend this week’s summit of countries offering to contribute to a peacekeeping force to end Russia’s bloody invasion of Ukraine, following talks between Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his UK counterpart Sir Keir Starmer at the weekend.
