Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will unveil a major AUKUS jobs and skills package in Perth in a campaigning blitz of Western Australia, with his frontbench to make a series of announcements in the state, which is crucial for Labor’s re-election.
Mr Albanese’s push to woo WA voters will include hosting a full meeting of his ministry on Monday, at the same time a Labor advertising campaign targets Opposition Leader Peter Dutton and accuses him of not supporting the state’s GST distribution deal, claiming it will lose $36.5 billion if the Coalition rips up a controversial, lucrative payment deal.
