Time for a free trade deal with India
A re-elected Indian government is once again interested in bilateral trade deals. That might help balance Australia's tricky relationship with China.

Negotiations for the RCEP began seven years ago, and despite hopes it would be finished by now, a handful of critical chapters on investment, electronic commerce, trade remedies and rules of origin remain unresolved. On the weekend, India raised more concerns regarding data storage which has sent negotiators back to the table for at least another month.
