RBA forecast misses explain its data dependence

The Reserve Bank underperforms next to major global central banks on foretelling, which probably shows why it is so focused on seeing hard economic figures.

One of the reasons the Reserve Bank of Australia may be especially focused on waiting for the next batch of data before cutting interest rates again is because it is not particularly good at forecasting.

And economists are no better when it comes to foretelling the trajectory of hard economic data.
