Reserve Bank of Australia governor Philip Lowe’s seven-year term expires in mid-September.

Some Labor backbenchers want him replaced because of the bank’s errant 2024 interest rate rise guidance, concerns the RBA is raising rates too aggressively and Dr Lowe’s repeated warnings about a potential price-wage spiral.
