How disinflation is driving more social inequality

Letting central banks prop up fiscal spending and households was an idea that should have stayed in the dustbin of history.

The yardstick for monetary policy is the inflation outcome. All across OECD member nations, core inflation has accelerated sharply and remains high even after some recent moderation.

So widespread has this poor policy performance been that it cannot be attributed to chance.
